The High Priestess & The Empress

2-The High Priestess

Upright
The High Priestess upright speaks of the hidden and mystical. If this card shows up it means the future is completely unknown, your own insight will guide your way. Meditation, reflection, and listening to your intuition are the only ways to find what you are searching for because deep down inside you already know the answers to your questions. Listening to your feelings is always going to set you on the right direction. The High Priestess is associated with the moon, so it represents the subconscious and dual personalities. If you asked about a woman or relationship, you may view her as intuitive, deeply spiritual and someone who lives and/or thinks in abstract forms. This card is referred to as the querent's "dream woman". As beautiful as this sounds, he may never see you as his Empress, because the Empress is attainable and available, the High Priestess is mysterious and unattainable. The attraction is beyond the physical, since this is one of the Soul Mate cards. If he can get past putting you on a pedestal and allow you to be you (accepting that you do not think or act like the Empress -the ideal woman), it can be a wonderful relationship that will be very deep and unconventional. The High Priestess may not be as comfortable with her beauty as the Empress because she will have intense admirers that will feel she has some type of healing properties and/or esoteric knowledge.

Reversed
Reversed is really simple to understand. It is about going against your own intuition. Knowing something is bad for you or you are making the wrong choice, maybe even having an upset stomach and anxiety, yet still doing it anyways or going against your better judgement. You are not listening to the Universe and going against your heart.

3-The Empress

Upright
The Empress upright is femininity in its most nurturing form. This card may be about your mother or someone you see as a motherly figure. It also means pregnancy or a fertile woman who is trying to get pregnant. The Empress represents a beautiful woman who has good harmony with the many roles women today must become. She is strong, independent, outspoken, but also, charming, gentle, sociable and compassionate. If you asked about a relationship, most likely he sees you as "marriage material" and is enamored by your grace and beauty. She has many admirers, but she knows how to stay humble. A woman who is comfortable with her sexuality without being vulgar. This card also represents love, elegance, and luxury.

Reversed
The Empress reversed is a smothering mother, maybe controlling and manipulative. Think of the passive aggressive woman who gives back-handed compliments. It also means infertility,  or someone who will have a very difficult process to become pregnant. She may be too timid or too lost into the idea of "traditional gender roles" to the stunt of her spiritual growth. In the other spectrum she might use her sexuality for financial gain, or use marriage as a way to rise up in her social status. She will most likely be too vain and extremely materialistic. Maybe a "gold-digger".
